Dancing With the Muse
I have two Divine Assignments….well really one that has two tentacles. One is to be a creator, and by that I mean not only creating medicine through words and paint and movement, but also considering every aspect of my life a creation, every bit a story to be told and re-told; always transforming.
The other is to serve other women by teaching them to do the same, and to walk in the world from their creative centers in whatever way that means to them, and to love all of their being. My Social Media goddesses tell me that in order to make the most impact I have to schedule my content for the next year, be consistent in my message, and link it all together in a cohesive way. They are right of course; but
MY MUSE DOES NOT ALWAYS AGREE
Muses are funny that way, they are kinda rebellious and definitely don’t like being told to create on a schedule. It is a constant dance between my muse and my desire to serve others. My muse does not come out to play when I force her, and she may definitely not want to write every week on Thursday, and she certainly doesn’t know what she may want to write about in August. She may want to paint, dance, take a bath, or
DO NOTHING AT ALL!
Here is the thing, the Muse will never steer you wrong if you listen to her and honor her. She likes to be seen and appreciated but on her own terms and when the time is right. And she is the Queen of Divine Timing, that is one of her many talents. So for the women who ask me, what do I do if I want to DO ALL THE THINGS and I feel scattered or unfocused? I tell them listen to your Muse and do what she tells you and it will all be fine. The Muse is a very curious being and life is more fun when you are curious.
