Trusting Yourself Without Question
Last week I spoke a little bit about Self-Trust and would like to dive deeper. Accessing and trusting your own information in my view is the key that opens the lock to bringing your heart and soul desires into form. But we are not really taught how to trust ourselves, as soon as we are old enough to make mistakes, we are told we have done wrong, and to do things another way, that "we don't know what we are doing." Instead of honoring mistakes for what they are; lessons for sure, especially learning exactly what we don't want, but also that we were doing the best we could with what we had and knew at the time. And so we begin to lose trust in our own information. We forget how to even access it, and by it I mean Inner Wisdom, Inner Wise Woman, the MUSE. And when we forget her, she gets a little pissed and forgets us, she will often give all the good ideas to those who pay attention to her. The good news is she is there waiting to return to us. She loves attention, and chocolate, and wine, and roses, and boots. Steve Madden Freebird boots to be precise. So let's start connecting and paying attention to her with some tools and techniques.
But before we start I want you to do a check-in (and feel free to share) on where your level of self-trust is. A few questions to ask yourself and journal on.
- Do you slow down and connect to yourself before you get out of bed and again at night? (And as many other times during the day as you need to) Or do you jump out of bed and begin your to-do list and collapse into bed at night.
- Do you know what you need on a daily basis to take care of yourself before you take care of others?
- Do you make decisions with ease and confidence or do you ruminate and over-think every decision from small to big?
- Do you seek out others to support you in your decisions, or do you seek out others to advice or to get their opinions on your life and decisions?
- Do you take time at least several times a week to create? Whatever that means for you.
- Do you beat yourself up for past decisions and actions that did not result in the outcome you wanted, or even that caused you pain?
- Do you forgive yourself easily?
Now onto the fun stuff, running the experiments that will connect you more deeply to your wisdom, remember that only YOU can make the best choices for you, and how to trust yourself without question. Even when you make mistakes. I invite you to try any and all of these practices.
- Before you get out of bed (or as close to it as possible, I always wake up to having to pee) put your hand on your heart and you other on your belly take some deep breaths and ask "what do I need to receive today?" And don't overthink the answer. Journal it so you remember throughout the day.
- Set a timer once an hour through the day (do this for a week) and stop what you are doing, take a few deep breathes and check in with yourself to see if you are getting what you need to receive. If not do what you need to get it before taking care of others.
- Before falling asleep connect in again, check in and see if you received what you needed. Tell yourself no matter what you did or didn't do you are enough.
- For one week every time you have a decision to make whether small (like what do I want to eat) or big (what is the next right step in my life/business) ask from a place of spaciousness and quiet. Stop, breath, but your hand on your heart and your belly and then ask the question, and trust the answer. Don't overthink it.
- For one week do not ask anyone for their advice or opinions. Try to receive as little external input as possible. DO ask supportive people to witness you and support you in your heart and soul desires. For an extra oomph go on a media diet and get no external input on how you should be,do, feel, or act.
- Take time to create, whatever that means for you, at least three times a week. If you don't consider yourself "creative" get a coloring book. When you sit down to create connect with your muse, ask her a question you have been sitting with, and see what comes during the creative process. Try not to "think" about the question, just create and see if anything comes. It may not make sense, sometimes the Muse speaks in her own language. Take some time to journal, at some point it will all come together.
- Write a story about a time you listened to your wisdom/intuition without question and the outcome was exactly what you wanted or maybe even better.
- Forgive yourself for a time when you didn't listen to your inner wisdom and it caused you pain.
I hope you enjoy these techniques. Please share with me your experiences with the experiments, or if I can support you in any way to connect with and trust your Inner Wisdom please reach out. I am always here.
Love and Light,
Dina
